You’re in the market for a new Mac laptop, but you’re not sure which is the best Mac laptop for you. If this sounds like you, then keep reading! I’m going to break down the differences between each model and talk about what is best suited for your needs.

Whether you are looking for something that will be great for graphic design or gaming, a Mac laptop is perfect for your situation! For example: if you need a lot of graphics power but don’t care about portability (or vice versa), we’ll tell you which model to get!

  1. MacBook Air (M1, 2020) | Best Mac laptop for price
  2. MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) | Best Mac Laptop for most users
  3. MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) | Best Mac laptop for graphic design, video editing
  4. MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) | Best Mac laptop for college students

MacBook Air (M1, 2020) | Best Mac laptop for the price

Display: 13.3 inches; 2,560 x 1,600 | CPU: Apple M1 | GPU: Integrated 8-core GPU | RAM: 8GB-16GB / Storage: 256GB-2TB SSD | Weight: 2.8 pounds

The MacBook Air is the best Mac laptop for most people. It’s thin, light, and powerful enough to do everything they want. And now it’s even better than ever with the M1 chip that delivers crazy-fast performance and 18 hours of battery life that can run serious games smoothly, thanks in large part to its M1 chip, which offers crazy-fast performance.

The MacBook Air’s webcam has been upgraded, as the M1 chip provides signal processing tricks to improve clarity and color accuracy. The new MacBook is now not just the best laptop for your average Apple user, but it’s closer to being king of laptops than in years past.

We recommend the basic $1,000 version of the MacBook Air for most day-to-day computing tasks. The new M1 processor is much faster than previous models and has a battery life, so good you rarely need to charge it during the day if you don’t want to. It also doesn’t require a cooling fan which keeps it dead silent even when maxing out your laptop with video exports or playing games.

The new M1 Air feels as if it is made out of the same metal that Iron Man’s suit was, in a way. The improved keyboard has more profound keys and more satisfying feedback when typing on them than other MacBooks released between 2016-2019. Unlike its predecessors, though, not all apps run optimally because they haven’t been optimized for Apple’s newest chip yet; some slight lag might be present until those updates are completed!

This MacBook Air on sale is available in Silver, Gold, and Space Gray.

MacBook Pro 13-inch (M1, 2020) | Best Mac Laptop for most users

Display: 13.3 inches, 2560 x 1600-pixel | CPU: Apple M1 8-core CPU | GPU: Apple M1 8-core GPU | RAM: 8GB to 16GB | Storage: 256GB to 2TB SSD | Weight: 3.0 pounds

The new MacBook Pro with M1 is not dramatically faster than the MacBook Air. However, it has a fan that lets the processor get a little warmer and eke out more power over a more extended period. We haven’t tested it yet, but it’s worth purchasing if you use intensive applications like video editing or coding software often.

It also beats most Windows laptops in terms of processing power! Other perks include improved speakers/microphones, brighter 13-inch screen, Touch Bar (if considered one). The only downside to this laptop is its slightly increased weight compared to the Macbook Air – which doesn’t matter much anyway because both are light enough for comfort while carrying around campus all day long.

The Mac App Store has come a long way since its early days. It may not have as many apps in it, but now you might be able to use your smartphone application on your MacBook Pro if the developers are willing and available. For mobile app enthusiasts, this is excellent news because they can pick up right where they left off when switching from their iPhone to a computer (or vice versa).

If you’re looking to buy a new MacBook Pro, don’t be fooled by Apple’s outdated 10th-generation processor. The company still sells the 13-inch laptop with Intel’s older chip, but it doesn’t perform well enough for its price tag of $1,800 and up compared with the newer M1 model that outperforms it in both CPU and GPU benchmarks. Although the Intel NUC supports 4 USB-C ports, it is not worth purchasing because of its high price.

MacBook Pro (16-inch,2019) | Best Mac laptop for graphic design, video editing

Display: 16 inches, 3072 x 1920 pixels | CPU: Intel Core i7 or i9 | GPU: AMD Radeon 5300M or 5500M | RAM: 8GB – 32GB | Storage: 512GB – 2TB SSD | Weight: 4.3 pound

MacBook Pro 16 inch with Touch Bar is the best laptop for video editors, designers, and other creative professionals. It features a touchpad that can be used as a touchscreen to scroll through pages, scrub photos in Adobe Photoshop or Pixelmator pro, or play games without lifting your finger from the keyboard—so everything feels more fluid than on older models.

And it’s significantly faster when editing high-resolution images because of its graphics card that’s up to twice as powerful as before. That means you’ll have less time waiting around while Photoshop renders complex filters so you can get back into creating art instead of watching progress bars fill up by themselves.

When considered purely on performance alone, the 16-inch MacBook Pro reigns supreme among laptops right now. It’s a powerhouse machine that runs everything from Photoshop to Final Cut Pro and games with ease. But the price tag is steep, starting at $2200 —The 16-inch MacBook Pro costs more than twice as much as the MacBook Air M1, but it is the best Mac laptop for those who need to edit large photos and videos.

But this laptop has not been updated with an Apple processor yet, which makes recommending it a bit more complicated decision. If you want to run Windows apps on your Mac while getting the fastest Intel processors available, this will be a perfect choice, even though there are some limitations to using older hardware.

Display: 13 inch Retina Display (2560 x 1600) | CPU: 1.4GHz quad core 8th gen to 2.3GHz 10th gen Core i7 | GPU: Intel Iris Plus 645, Intel Iris Plus | RAM: 8GB to 32GB | Storage: 256GB to 4TB SSD | Weight: 3.1 pounds

This laptop is not ideal for gaming but still good if you are a graphic designer or videographer who needs powerful hardware to run their software smoothly. The keyboard has been updated from the 2018 model. This new Macbook pro has longer battery life than the previous generation models due to its larger batteries, which allow it to last 17 hours on one charge.

The Intel-powered MacBook Pro has a lot to offer with its increased memory and storage capacities. The laptop also comes equipped with four USB ports that will be useful for college students who need more connectivity options than the M1 model’s two ports provide them.

The Intel-powered 13-inch MacBook Pro comes in models that run on a Core i5 or Core i7 chip, which should be more than capable of handling hefty workloads. It has the same Retina display as Apple’s M1 laptops and also has Apple’s Magic Keyboard. Like its M1 powered sibling, the new Intel-based laptop offers speakers with a high dynamic range!

Things to consider when shopping for a new Mac laptop

Performance

MacBooks are Apple’s best-selling computers, and they’re perfect for all sorts of needs. Some people need power, some want portability, but the right MacBook will always be there with you every step of your journey! There is a large variety to choose from, including powerful workhorses like the 13″ Intel-powered Pro or 16″ M1 Powered pro, which can also have up to 32GB RAM. At the same time, more affordable models come in both m1 and intel variants as well.

Battery life

Suppose battery longevity is what interests you most when deciding which laptop should be yours next. In that case, there are two major choices: Macbooks with Intel chips (which have an expected 10-12 hour lifespan) versus their new line that uses ARM architecture instead—the M1 series laptops like the MacBook Pro and Air. These come at different prices but boast more than double the lifespan; they’re estimated at 20 hours per charge while providing less weight overall

Storage

Storage is one of the most important considerations to have in mind when you’re looking for a new laptop. If more space than possible is your goal, then take advantage of Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro that can reach up to 8TB configurable capacity or their 13-inch Intel-powered machine with four ports which has 4 TB available storage options.

The other current laptops offered by Apple include their M1 and MBP models. Still, these are only configured at 2TB maximum storage size, so be sure to consider what fits best within your budget while maximizing features as well!

Size

There is a laptop for all of your needs. The MacBook Pro line has the most extensive available screen size at 16 inches, perfect if you want to get the most out of a desktop-like setup and need more space than what’s offered on 13-inch screens. If minimalism suits you better, consider getting an Air.

It weighs less than 3 pounds with its compact design that still delivers excellent performance from Apple products without taking up much room in your backpack or bag while being light enough to use anywhere conveniences are found!
